A talented forward with a good eye for goal, Jack Jeffery earned praise from former Hammers favourite Alan Devonshire during a loan spell at Hampton and Richmond at tne end of 2007 before going off for another loan at Cambridge United in February 2008.

The striker, born on 13 August 1989, hails from Gravesend and has high hopes of going all the way to the first team at West Ham United. JJ, as he is known to his team-mates, has been with the club since 2004 and cites Paolo Di Canio as his all-time favourite player. He would relish the opportunity of one day pitting his wits against John Terry, preferably at Wembley Stadium.

A regular at Under-18 level in the 2007/08 campaign, Jeffery also had plenty of opportunities with the reserves. Not least in the 3-1 defeat at Birmingham City that October when he scored a splendid curled goal from the edge of the penalty area. That sort of finishing led to his temporary switch to Hampton and Richmond, where he scored two goals before returning to the Boleyn Ground in January.

He continued to feature for the reserves upon his comeback before earning a loan move to Conference high-fliers Cambridge United the following month, a deal that was extended by a further month in mid-March. Jeffery returned to the Boleyn Ground for the 2008/09 pre-season and finished the summer action with a goal in a 3-0 win at Tilbury.
